A panel discussion was held on the Day 5 of 5th Workshop for Women’s Leadership in Peace Process regarding Security Sector Reform held from 26 to 30 September in Yangon.

As panelists, Col. Hkun Okker, the Leading Patron of PNLO, Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo (the founder and the Director of MIPSS, U Ye Myo Hein (the Executive Director of Tagaung Institute of Political Studies) discussed the Security Sector Reform such as the background history of SSR in Myanmar, reviewing SSR in Myanmar compared with international SSR reforms, the different ideas on the main two concepts of SSR_ State-centered and Human-centered security among the main stakeholders in Myanmar and the important role of societal Security.

The Q & A section followed the discussion of panelists.
